An umbrella foundation provides services (e.g. investment, accounting, project promotion, etc.) for dependent, mostly non-profit foundations and can thus relieve the founder of his or her administrative tasks. It is particularly efficient for smaller assets and thus an interesting alternative to setting up an independent foundation.
