Different bonds are issued by the following issuers:
- Public bonds are bonds issued by the public sector (e.g. Confederation, cantons, cities).
- Debt securities mostly originate from credit institutions with special tasks (e.g. Germany: Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau).
- Municipal and mortgage bonds originate from municipal and real estate credit institutes in the public sector.
- Industry bonds are issued by companies. Foreign bonds originate from foreign issuers (countries, cities, companies) and can be denominated either in CHF (foreign bonds in CHF) or in other currencies (foreign bonds).
