Swiss Bond Index (SBI)

The Swiss Bond Index (SBI) shows the price performance of bonds denominated in Swiss francs that are listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange. Bonds must have a minimum maturity of one year and an issue volume of at least CHF 100 million to be included. Only bonds with a fixed interest rate and a minimum rating of BBB are included in the index. If the remaining term of a bond falls below one year, it is removed from the index. The standard index of the SBI family is the Swiss Bond Index AAA-BBB (TR). The various indices distinguish, for example, between domestic (domestic debtors) and foreign (foreign debtors), between the different maturities (1–3 years, 3–5 years, etc.), between the different debtors (sovereigns, companies, etc.) or between the different ratings. In addition to the total return indices (TR), there are also duration and yield indices within the SBI. The described concept for the SBI family has been in force since January 2007.
