Macroeconomics

Within the framework of economics, macroeconomics deals with the behaviour of the economy as a whole, e.g. changes in total income or the level of employment, the rate of inflation or fluctuations in the business cycle. It tries to find explanations for these fluctuations in the economy and to determine the relevant control variables and their correlations. These control variables can be used to achieve goals such as price level stability, full employment or economic growth.
