HFRI (Hedge Fund Research Index)

The HFRI is a fund of funds index that tracks the average monthly performance of approx. 2000 hedge funds from the hedge fund research universe in USD on an equally weighted basis. The index also exists hedged in CHF. The hedge fund managers voluntarily report net of all fees returns in USD. To be included in the index, a hedge fund must have been actively trading for at least twelve months or have more than USD 50 million in assets under management.

The HFRX is published in addition to the HFRI and is based on daily performance data, but only includes about 50 hedge funds. There are numerous sub-indices for the HFRX, which are subdivided according to regions, strategies and asset classes.
