Emerging countries or markets at the beginning of industrialisation with above-average growth potential and developing financial markets. Examples: Korea, Taiwan and Malaysia in Southeast Asia; Brazil, Chile and Mexico in Latin America; and advanced transition countries in Central and Eastern Europe. However, these countries also have higher political risks and higher inflation rates compared to the developed countries.
