An ecclesiastical foundation is not subject to foundation supervision, but to ecclesiastical supervision. It pursues ecclesiastical purposes and has a connection to a religious community. In contrast to a charitable foundation, an ecclesiastical foundation does not have to be registered in the commercial register.
